Witches Brew

Hi...
I'm dropping in really quick to share this cute idea.  I CANNOT figure out how to load a printable document...I made this so cute, in Microsoft word, and I can't get it to load for you all.  So you get the poem...not all cute-i-fied.  SORRY!

Witches Brew

Start with lots of owls eyes.

Sprinkle in some colorful flies.

Toss in point toes of a lizard;

and a bunch of chicken gizzards.

Add blood drops in small doses.

Don’t forget some cute little ghost noses

Stir in fine bones of a bat

Along with fat claws from a cat

That’s one cup of each in a black pot

Oh, and don’t forget ants…they add a lot

Drizzle in some troll drool too,

This is all you have to do….

The following substitutions are allowed;

But only for the VERY WIMPY CROWD!

Owls Eyes: Peanuts

Colorful Flies: M&M’s

Toes of Lizard: Candy Corn

Chicken Gizzards: Chex Cereal

Blood Drops: Red-Hot Cinnamon Candies

Ghost Noses: Miniature Marshmallows

Bones of Bat: Pretzels

Claws from a Cat: Sunflower Seeds

Ants: Raisins

Troll Drool: Melted White Chocolate

Is this the cutest poem or what!?
I 'm taking this to a birthday tomorrow.
My sweet Niece Colie who will be turning 16...yikes!
Brooke will be 5...they are eleven years and 1 day apart!
Love these girlies!

Gotta have the CAULDRON!

Have a great day!

Menu and Soft Caramel Corn

H..E..Y!  I told you I would be back to tell you what's on the menu this week AND share a absolutely delish caramel corn recipe.  SO here's the menu...

Menu
M. Chicken Sandwiches & Seasoned Fries
T. Manacotti & Corn
W. Stuffed Burgers & Mashed Potato Ghosts

**CAMPING Thurs. Fri. Sat. Sun. Mon.****

Yes, we are going to be out of town for a few days and so we'll be eating lots of hot dogs!  No, I am so kidding!  I'm not quite sure what we will be making so I just did up until Wednesday.

Ooh...now lets talk some CARAMEL CORN!

Oh, you guys....This is to die for yummy!
My Mom ALWAYS made this awesome caramel corn at Christmas time to give to friends.. It was our "neighbor gift".  We would help mom make it and we didn't use a popcorn popper.  We did it all on the stove top, and it is was so annoying,  we would've rather been out playing in the snow than doing this!  But, it really does make all the difference.  AND I would consider it....the good old fashioned way!  The funny thing is, I don't even own a popcorn popper. This is the only way that I make popcorn now.

All I do is cover the bottom of the pan with canola oil. The oil goes about 1/2 way up the corn kernel. (I don't measure) I add enough popcorn to cover the bottom of the pan without crowding the popcorn.
Cover the pan with a lid.  DO NOT uncover it.  When you hear the kernels starting to pop, slide the pan back and forth on the burner until it all pops.

Seriously... it makes the best popcorn ever.

Soft Caramel Corn
1/4 C. butter
1 C. brown sugar
1/2 C. light corn syrup
1/3 C. sweet Cond.milk
1/2 t. vanilla
5 Qt. popcorn

in the saucepan, combine, sugar corn syrup. Stir well. Bring to boil over med. heat and boil 1 min. stir in sweetened cond. milk stir until soft ball and add vanilla pour over popcorn.

Printable Soft Caramel Corn Recipe

Ooey...gooey..pure deliciousness!

If you want it more caramel-y you can use 2 1/2 qt. of popcorn too..have fun, adjust it to your taste!

CANDY CORN....

I love candy corn.
Like really really A LOT.
Like probably will gain 10 lbs after Halloween a lot!
{Darn candy corn}
I've always liked it, but, it seems like the older I'm getting. I'm liking it even more! I've already bought 5 bags...but it's to fill my cute pedestal canisters and....OK, no excuses...I just plain love the stuff!

Although I did do something pretty darn cute with it.
Hence today's tutorial.

See! Told you, isn't it CA-UTE!

YOU NEED:

-Jar
-Ribbon
-Stickers or vinyl

I got my jar at the DI, (thrift store) for $.75
I picked up the stickers at Hobby Lobby and used a 40% off coupon they were $1.50
The ribbon I had from my potty prize jar, but I found the Halloween one at the dollar store and you can pick up the other ones at Walmart for .$47 a spool!

Fill your cute jar with candy corn and then eat a couple pieces,
next you start tying on the ribbon around the rim of the jar...then eat a couple more pieces
Find out how I did this HERE
Once you are all finished, stick the stickers or vinyl on the jar- WALAH!
You are done!

Uh...Love it!

Now...this one is Decoration Only...meaning... NO EATING IT!
That's why I have three canisters to munch on!

Have a great day you guys!

Disney's: The Legend of Sleepy Hollow....

Really...Does it get any better than this? My all time favorites!
When I was little there were three cartoons that I ABSOLUTELY LOVED...
(and still do)
1.The Legend of Sleepy Hollow!  aka..Icabod, The headless horseman.
2.Donald Duck "Trick or Treat"
3.Walt Disney's "The Lonesome Ghosts"
My sister and my two brothers and I would all get so excited to watch these!
It was a tradition kinda like Rudolph and Frosty are at Christmas.
All four of us would sit in front of the TV with our eyes glued to it!
Now that I have a Princess of my own, I HAD to keep the tradition going.
Gosh, I would have withdrawals if I didn't get to see this movie! I've had the "Who's that walkin' down the street?" "Are they shovels or are they feet?" in my head for a few days now so... this is what we will be watching tonight!  If you don't have the video, don't worry, I hooked you up...
until you can buy your own...(cause you are going to want to!)
  PROMISE!

AND just because these look so darn good...I just HAVE to make some of these to go with Icabod!

Crazy for Crust made these Candy Corn Brownie Bites. MMMM!
(she makes the yumminest looking stuff !)

Have a great day!

Garlic Fries

Hi you guys!

Have you seen the garlic fries on pinterest, or any other blogs?
{ahem... I  am addicted to pinterest!}
One day as I was doing my pinning, I found this killer sounding and looking recipe.  It came  from
The Frugal Vegetarian
I LOVE ....Like triple... diple...heart kinda love... recipes that are easy and super delish, and this recipe is both!
OK...so this is what they looked like when they came out of the oven.....YUM!

Garlic Oven Fries

-8 garlic cloves
-6 tsp. extra virgin olive oil
-4 med. red potatoes
-3 T. corn starch
-1 1/2 t.salt
-1 1/2 t. freshly ground pepper
-1/2 t. garlic powder

preheat your oven to 425 degrees. In a large bowl, toss all ingredients to coat potatoes. Arrange a single layer on a baking sheet and bake until golden brown. for 40 minutes. turning once halfway through cooking. Serve immediately with your choice of dipping sauce.

Our sauce choice is ALWAYS fry sauce.

FRY SAUCE
- 1/2 C.Mayonnaise
- 3 T.Ketchup
Mix together and Enjoy! You want a light pink color.

Another Option is:
-Mayonnaise
-BBQ Sauce
-Mix together. YuM!

I served these with Sloppy Joes. I used Russet potatoes, I think next time I will use the red ones like the recipe calls for and I will also be sure to use cracked pepper instead of regular pepper. They were nummy  and as you can see...Pretty Princess sure enjoyed them...OK...WE ALL DID!

Now...

Mummy Dogs and Tater Bugs

Who wants a MUMMY DOG?  Maybe a  TATER BUG?
Not real ones silly...Yummy ones!
Every year since My Pretty Princess started kindergarten it has become a tradition that we we make one Halloween inspired treat/dinner a week.

So... Yesterday we made Mummy Dogs and Tater Bugs!

Want to make your own? You do?
Well then, let me tell you how I made mine!

MUMMY DOGS:
-1 package hot dogs
-mustard
-2 pepper dots
Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Make eyes with dots of mustard and put the dots of pepper in the center.

TATER BUGS:
-tater tots
-uncooked spaghetti
-carrot sticks
-broccoli
-olives(optional)
-sour cream (optional)

Bake Tater tots at 450 degrees for 5 minutes. Take out then use piece of the spaghetti to connect 3 Taters together. Bake for 7 minutes more. Julianne some carrots (or you can buy the matchstick kind} Stick two on each side of the bug to make legs. Stick tiny broccoli florets in for the antennae. You can use a little dot of sour cream and cut up tiny olives for the eyes if you want.

Bake for 5 minutes

I used baby carrots and sliced them, broccoli, dried spaghetti

"Thread" three Taters onto the spaghetti

This is what they will look like when you put them in to bake for the remaining 7 minutes.

When they come out of the oven, stick the carrots (legs) into the sides. I cut two little slits into the tops for the antennae. Then stuck the broccoli in. The spaghetti cooks and helps hold it together so you get to eat the whole thing!

Cute little buggers...

Pretty Princess and her friends gobbled them up!  They loved 'em!  Now go make you some Halloween'y yummy fun-ness1 (Yep, I just made up my own word...I'm good at that!)
