Hi you guys!

Ok, so this post is really a apology to all of you...my followers.
I am so sorry for my lack of posts.
I had intentions to make this month, the month that I would start a schedule of some sorts! I just knew that with my P. Princess back in school I would be able to dedicate more time to my blog.
Well, as you can see it hasn't happened yet, and for that I sincerely apologize!
I am renting a booth with a local retailer, and have to have my crafts done by this Thursday and so I have been busy crafting away for it!
I'm on the "Enrichment Committee" (I think they changed the name for that)I have been trying to get that ready for our Super Saturday too....
I 'm not trying to make up excuses for the "broken promises" but, I have lost followers the last couple weeks,  and so I felt like I really needed to explain to all of you the reason why my posts have been so far in between!
Thank you to all of you who are sticking around and leaving such awesome comments! I do read each one! So THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!
My plan still stands.... to start a weekly schedule and make this blog the best that it can be
It'll just be a couple weeks longer!
I love you guys!
THANK YOU so much for your understanding!

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Mud Slide!

Hi you guys!

Last night for FHE we made this dessert!  We loved it...I loved it even more because it was SUPER EASY and looks SUPER COOL!

What do you think?  Fun....right!

All you need is:
- 3.5 oz pkg.Chocolate fudge pudding
-2 C. Milk
-Small container Cool Whip
-1 1/2 C.Oreos
-reserve 1/4 c.oreos  for topping

Make pudding according to the directions on the package. add 1 1/4 C. Crushed Oreos (I used about 12 cookies)
Mix oreos and cool whip together. Fill the bootoms of the glass with chocolate pudding.  Tilt them on their side to make it "slide" down the glass.  Fill the other half with the cookies and cream mixture.  Garnish with Oreo crumbles.  That's it!

Dig your spoon in and eat.........MMMMMM!

Fun Lunches!

School starts tomorrow for my Princess!   REALLY? ALREADY? UGH!!!
Back to school is always bitter-sweet for me.  I miss my girlie being home all the time!  AND This summer has gone by so fast!

Today, I wanted to share with you some fun ideas I have found and ones that I have used in the past to make lunch more fun.  We have always done home lunch because it is so much easier
and cheaper, this year P. Princess wants to have school lunch.

So we are working on a compromise, on the days she LOVES what they are having she can eat school lunch.  Which will probably be 2-3 days out of the week. Which isn't too bad.  She can kind-of be a picky eater.  She definitely knows what she likes!

Can you believe she has never liked PB& J's!
No matter what Jam/Jelly I use...doesn't matter!

And If I use even tried to use honey...I get the "OOh.... Ick Face"
Seriously, is this kiddo really mine?

On my search to find some different ideas I found this
Paula Deen Article  This article has 10 ideas to make lunches healthy and fun!

Did you know that kids 11-12 prefer paper bag lunches rather then having them in a lunch box?
What? I didn't know that!

Here's some of the fun ideas we came up with last year to change it up a bit.

A seasonal cookie cutter and sandwich cutter become your best friend~ There is something about them that make a sandwich more fun!

Use the mini ones to make homemade lunchables.
I would cut the meat and cheese out with them. Add some crackers, a Capri Sun and a mini candy bar and  WALAH!  Super easy!

I bought fun things at the dollar store  I would put a surprise in her lunch.. so it was kind-of like a
"Happy Meal" some of the things I bought were:
-pencils
-pens
-bookmarks
- bracelets
-rings
-tops
-mini notepads

-I printed out jokes found at family fun.
Printable Jokes from Family Fun

Another fun thing I did was write her a little note each day to let her know I was thinking of her and hoping she had a good day.

 I found these cute printables!
Super cute and ready to be printed out!  At Alpha Mom!

These are the ones I have used in the past!
Lunch Box Notes from Kid Printables

I think this year I will write out fortunes for her, like: "I see a trip to the dollar store awaits you after school today!"  Now I just need to make or find something that is reuseable.  Maybe a plastic Easter egg recovered in fun fabric...we'll see....d

I hope these ideas are helpful! Have a great day!

Cereal Box Notebooks!

Hi Guys!

Are you all getting ready for school? Getting some shopping done? The school supplies? All that good stuff. Well, I have to show you all what we have been working on!

Introducing...DA..DA..DA..DAHHHH

Are these cute or what!  I HAVE to share how easy and inexpensive these are to make!

Here's what you'll need:

-Cereal Boxes
-Spiral Notebooks
-Mod Podge/foam brush
-Something to bend the wire
-Scissors

Unbend the top of the spiral wire and then  bend it back a little so that you can unwind it and remover the top cover.
Ok, so I cut the the fronts of the boxes only for a few of them.
(Sorry I don't have the pictures)

They ended up being too small for the front cover, so if you cut them in advance make sure you
cut the fronts AND the sides of the box!

Use the mod podge and spread a layer onto the notebook top, and then lay it onto the cereal box top.  Smooth it out so there are no "bubbles"

Cut the leftover side of the box off so it is all even.  You can use a hole punch and punch hole where you see the holes "were" if you want.

(Sorry about the blurry pic...it kinda makes your eyes go crossed, huh!?)
I used a small hole paper punch, and just punched where there were already holes.

Then I put it all back together the same way I took it apart.  As you can see, the holes were not perfect, but when it is all put together, you can't even tell!

See...can't even tell... Now I just gotta show you the rest, 'cause I HEART them they turned out so cute!

On the last three, they were the boxes that I had cut just the fronts, I mod podged those to the front of the notebooks, and put another coat on top of  the entire front.    They seem to be okay, but I really like the other better so...I see some more of these coming!

What do you guys think?
Do you want to know how much they cost?

Ok...
Cereal box...free
Notebooks  1.00 but you can get them for like .15 right now!
Mod podge...left over from other projects..

So these cost me ahem a whole whopping $1.00!
And the smile on Pretty Princess' face....

Worth a million!
Have a great day !

BTS @ Mushki Loves

Ok..so here  at Mushki Loves I have decided to dedicate this month to "Back To School!"
I'll be showing you some things I am making and inspirational fun stuff  from other fellow bloggers!

Some of the things you'll find here this month will be:
-tutorials
- lunch box ideas
- printables
- fun tips

Sound fun?

To kick it off ...here's a little something I did!

A Back to School Plaque

This is a 6 3/4 square wood plaque found at Hobby Lobby.  I chose some fun fonts and arranged them using Picasa (you can download it for free) and it is pretty easy to use.  There are a lot of tutorials out there on how to use it.  The fonts you have to download to your computer first  and then they will automatically work in Picasa.  Your Creative Juices has  a really great tutorial on where to find fonts, and how to download them to your computer!  I love these girls!

What you need:
-Wood Plaque
-Paint/Brush
- Mod Podge
-Scrapbook Paper
-Computer/ Printer
- Krylon Clear Gloss Spray

I would love  to take credit for this idea, BUT....I first got this idea from Suzanne at Just Another Hang Up! I've said it before, Her blog is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. She has some great stuff over there!  I make my own now that I know how to, but she actually does one for every month and she has a free printable.

Ok...so here is how I make mine.  Paint your board, I always use sandpaper and distress mine.  After it's all dry, apply a thin coat of your mod podge to the board.  lay the scrap/worded paper onto the wood and press down evenly.
 * tip: I lay a extra piece of paper on top and run my hand over it instead of the actual scrap/word paper so that the ink doesn't smear. AND to get all the bubbles out!*
Then apply a clear coat of spray to keep the words from "bleeding" when you mod podge over it.
Modpodge over the entire board.  You don't need a thick layer, just a thin layer to cover the entire area.

Then guess what!  You are all done!  You can admire your cute plaque...and thank Suzanne for this awesome idea!

The plaque looked lonely, it needed some fun stuff... so I had a apothecary jar that I filled with a few crayon boxes, some erasers, some pencil sharpeners,a roll of tape, glue sticks, a couple rulers, scissors, pencils, mini notepad, a pen, colored pencils...you can use anything you have on hand at your house!   Then I added a few styrofoam apples just for fun!

Oh my cuteness!  I'm lovin' it! AND the best thing about his decor is all the school supplies are on sale right now! Talk about double duty!

YAY!
