"The Alphabet" Frame

 Hi Guys!

Are you all getting ready for school to start?  I haven't EVER decorated for "back to school!"  August is always the month that my house was decor-less.  What?  I know!
I hope I'm not the only one! So this is what I came up with!

 What do you think?

How fun is this?

I wanted something that was simple yet cute, this is what you need:
- Piece of college ruled paper
-Printer
-I used the font "Love ya like a sister"
-Type out the letters and then
- 5X7 frame
-Barn red paint
-Sandpaper
-Optional: Gloss spray for the frame.

I typed it all up how I wanted it to look.  Then I tried to think of some fun words that would use a letter in every line so that I could highlight those ones red.  All I could thinks of was my last name: GILES. That I liked anyway At the bottom of the page I did have in smaller words:"What can you spell?"
It didn't fit and I got lazy I didn't want to go and resize everthing, so I just cut it off when I put it in the frame.
I painted the frame with just one coat of the paint, sanded it, and sprayed a coat of the Gloss spray on the frame and WALAH!  All done!

See told ya, super easy!

The best part is the  total cost for this was a whopping $.75 centeroos.  I got the frame at a thrift store {loves the chunky-ness}the rest I had already!

Because I love you all...here's a free printable The Alphabet!

I didn't think you all would want my last name so it isn't highlighted, it's just plain ole black..
but still cute.  Take it if you want it!

Have a super day!

Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes

Hi you guys!

First off...sorry for my lack of posts this week!
I have been making new friends, visiting lots of cute blogs!  Pinning away on Pinterest and getting some blog inspiration!  {If you need an invite to Pinterest send me a e-mail and I'll send you a invite!) I've come up with some fun ideas for back to school decor AND made a few fun things....Do you all decorate for back to school?
I have never decorated for back to school I decided that  I've been missing out!
What I came up with  and made is super easy and like I said...FUN! I will give you a little sneak peek at the end of my post for one of them!

Ok, so lets talk about these cupcake cones. I have seen these around Blogland.
I've seen the cute, pretty.PERFECT ones..and some failures, over flowing ones that have made me crack up! I thought..."I so want to try these".
So began the Ice cream cone cupcake adventure at my house!

I started by using this cute cookbook. I actually have only made one recipe out of this book
and it's the hot dog octopus on the front cover.  This is a super cute book though!

This is what I used:
-12 cupcake box mix
-12 ice cream cones
-Colored Sprinkles
-Fluffy Butter Cream Frosting  (I just made a small 1/2 batch of the frosting)

Make the cake batter using the instructions on the box, spoon 1-1/2 T. of cake batter into the cones. I used a cupcake tin to bake them in, it worked great!
Bake the cupcakes at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Frost and sprinkle after they are cooled.

Ah...so pretty!

Now turn your head to the right and pretend like the one on the left isn't melting...Oh, wait...that doesn't help!

Okay, look what happened...ALL BUT THREE  looked like this!  I thought MINE were not going to over flow...and THEY DID!  I just cheated and turned them around and took pictures that way!
I would only use 1 Heaping Tablespoon of batter to get non-overflow ones!

P. Princess and her cute friend sure enjoyed them though!  The "melting" one got scarfed right up after I took a picture! These are so cute and fun!  The recipe says to actually put a scoop of ice cream on on the top, then add sprinkles.  I think next time we will try this!

NOW if you try these and yours turn out totally PERFECT...I want to see!

Oh, here's the sneak peek of one of the fun things I made...

Have a great day!

S'mores Bites

Hi Guys! Let's talk about some S'mores. Sound Good?
These little treats are a favorite in the summer, but if you're like me the only time we make these are when we are camping.  And if I'm being honest here, they aren't my most favorite treat.  Don't get me wrong, they're good, just not DELISH. Well,  I found this recipe a couple days ago... at Leesh & Lu's Recipe Box. I knew I needed to make them! Heck, it's S'more season right!

What do you think?  Yummy!

Ok so what you need is the basic yummy stuff:

Marshmallows
Chocolate
Graham Crackers

But...to make this even better...you need:

Butter
Powdered Sugar
Mini Muffin Tin

Oh, I guess you'll need the recipe too!
{WINK}

S'more Bites

1 C. Crushed Graham Crackers
1/4 C. Powdered Sugar
6 Tbsp. Melted Butter
1 Package of MILK Chocolate Chips
12 large marshmallows

Preheat oven to 350. Crush your graham crackers, put them in a bowl and add  powdered sugar, and melted butter.  Mix it all together and then divide the crumb mixture evenly using a spoon, in each cup of a mini-size muffin pan. Press crumbs to form shallow cups. Bake for 5 minutes. Take it out of the oven. Add 5 chocolate chips on each cup, allowing them to melt.  Cut marshmallows in half, put the cut-side down on to the chocolate. Put back in the oven for 3 minutes or until marshmallows are just slightly softened. Put the pan  from oven onto a cooling rack. Cool 15 minutes. Carefully remove cups from pan. Cool completely.
Melt about 1/2-3/4 cup chocolate chips in microwave  bowl or on stove. Dip or Drizzle the top of each marshmallow in melted chocolate.

Printable S'more Bite Recipe
I adjusted the recipe to what I did...
These cute girls suggested using shears to cut the marshmallows, and to dip them in water to help with the "stickiness"..SMART It worked with a knife!

Ok so, I have to tell you what I did...I decided to be a little lazy and  hated the thought of having to melt chocolate chips, because most of it just sticks to the bowl and it just seems so wasteful to me...so instead  I just scooped a tablespoon of  the Hershey chocolate hot fudge sauce into a little bowl for the chocolate  tops...

Um...Really?  I only put it in for 30 seconds.. NOW, that is what I would call wasteful! Yeah, the second batch I did for 15...PERFECT-O! I used a fork to drizzle some of this chocolate on  them, I dunked the entire tops on some, and then I left some without chocolate on top.
Next time I will use the milk chocolate chips for the top though...Although my faves were the ones with nothing on the tops!
Can I just tell you...these are the BEST S'mores that I have EVER eaten!
Yep, These will definitely be a repeat here at my house they were super easy and super yummy!
AND....
You can make them all year long!  So what are you waiting for?  Go get your S'more makin' yum on! MMMM!

Cute-a-fied Mini Notebook!

Hi! How are you all today?
P.Princess got up at 7:30 this morning to go walk with me and she is snoozing now.. My gosh, my cute  girlie can sleep like no other, she'll sleep until noon every day if I let her! Good thing it's summer! Oh but, I am so not looking forward to having to wake her when school starts! UGH! Ok so enough about that... Well, I made a little something last night, while I was sitting in bed...
{Do you guys ever do that?}

We'll call it a "Sweet girl...Cute-a-fied mini notebook!" Cause that's what is! Ok so I did a tutorial on this so there is some pictures (smile)  I probably could've taken more but I hope this will help! It is so simple to do...let me show you how I did it!

The supplies:  - hot glue gun, glue stick, scissors, scrapbook paper,ribbon/yarn,embellishments Oh..and the mini notebooks you can pick these up at the dollar store in 3-4 come in a pack depending on what kind they have. You don't really need the paper cutter unless you want it.  The paper I was using had straight lines so I just used them as my guide and the cutter as a table....Remember.... I was sitting in bed!

Have your scrapbook paper ready...Using the glue stick apply glue to the notebook. Line the notebook up in the corner of your scrapbook paper. Be sure to do one side at a time, when the first side is glued then close the notebook, and kind of fold it so that when you close the book it isn't too tight when you glue the other side...I hope that makes sence.

After both sides are glued then cut around the notebook.

so now you should have a covered notebook.  I cut a 1" wide strip of paper
glues that just under the center mark of the notebook.

Then I cut a 5" piece of yarn that I found at dollar tree and just tied it around the inside flap of the notebook.

I had some cute litte bead thing-ys and used some of the yarn to tie those together.  I hot glued those on the front. Then I added the "sweet girl" brad to the center of it.

See that little edge there is not straight...yeah, it's bugging me...I didn't even notice until I'm looking at these pictures!

AND this is how you make a cute simple tag...you can make them bigger, I was just needing a small one!
so I just used the scraps.  Start by cutting a rectangle or square shape..what ever you prefer...

After you cut it out, cut a triangle shape at the top...

then snip the top of that rectangle off and you have a cute tag. Use a hole punch and make the little hole and I used a piece of brown thread to put through it.  I didn't take pictures of that...but I just glued that in the center of the pink strip of paper on the front of the notebook..Then I used a stamp that said,"Kisses" and stamped it on top of it!

With some of the left over paper decided to show you how to curl it...have you ever seen this?  A friend of mine showed me this.  She actually gave P.Princess a gift and this is what she did...

I used the card stock style paper for this, use your scissors to curl it by pressing firmly down on the paper as you pull the scissors towards you.

Umm. that didn't work the way it was supposed to!

I twisted it around a pencil....

AND...it worked!

Then I did some white curls with just regular paper...just using the scissors!

I had a little cellophane bag I tied those little cute curls together using some of the yarn..then tied it to the top of the bag!

And there you have it!  How to make a cute, INEXPENSIVE, mini notebook complete with a tag and paper curls...

Have a great day my friends!
