Parmesan Rolls

Hey!  Today is Recipe day! Who can resist a really EASY and YUMMY recipe?  Not me that's for sure!  This is from the cookbook that I shared the Big, Fat,Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies found here.  I LOVE this book.   These rolls are like heaven.  I try really hard to just have a taste because truly if I started eating them I might not stop and end up so sick!  They are that good!  OK
enough of my rambling!  I will SHARE!

PARMESAN ROLLS

14-18 Rhodes Frozen Dinner Rolls
5 Tbsp. Butter
1/2 C. Parmesan
1 tsp. Garlic Powder

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Spray Bundt pan with nonstick spray, then fill the bottom of the pan with one layer of frozen rolls.  Melt the butter in a bowl, and then add Parmesan & garlic powder and mix.  Pour over the rolls and let rise to the top of the bundt pan.  Cook 18-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Ooh...and I even took pictures as I went...'cause I'm practicing my photo skills.

I have also made these without a bundt pan so if you don't have one no biggie..just put them in anything you have. They'll still turn out!  PROMISE!  I started the "raising" at about 12:30 (noon) it took them 'til about 4:00 to be ready. You got to try them.... MMMM....and so worth it!

Hop....Hop....Hop...Countdown Easter Blocks

Hey Everybody!  Welcome to  "What's Happening Wednesday!"I am so excited to show you these!  I have fetish with countdown blocks.  They are a fun decoration and plus they give the kiddos something to look forward to because they can help each day with "The turning of the blocks."

I love seasonal decor!  After one holiday is over it's time for the next one to come up! I can be a little indecisive about  the decorating though. I am constantly changing it around and then by the time I get it exactly how I think  I like it, the month is half over.  Am I the only one who does this?   My Sweetie probably thinks so!

I think that countdown blocks are so cute and fun! This is the one I made for Easter:

Like I said...Love these things!  What do ya think?   I will probably do a tutorial for these so you can make your own.... so look for it in the future!   Have a FAN-TABULOUS DAY all!

Spring Decor Balls

Have you seen what Alison at House Of Hepworth can do with some jute, yarn, pinto beans and even an old wicker type outdoor mat? Very cool stuff! Well sadly, I can't take full credit for this idea. I saw this awhile ago at another blog. I wish I knew whose it was. so I could give them the proper credit, this is a really cute idea!  It is inexpensive and pretty easy to do!  If I can do it, I promise...you can too!  Today is my very first tutorial  aka "Tuesday Tutorial" so you get to see how I made these!  Here we go!

These are all the supplies you need:
- Laundry clothesline
- 3 sizes of  balls
- Glue gun
- Scissors
Yes, that's all!

Where I got all my supplies:  The Laundry rope I got at the Dollar store.  I so wished they had a yellow one, I actually went to 3 different ones and no yellow!  Bummer!  I wanted different sizes and at the craft stores to get different sizes in Styrofoam can be a little pricey and the dollar store didn't have any ping pong balls or anything I could really use, so I headed to my trusty thrift store (DI). I found Styrofoam in the bigger size, but nothing smaller.  While I was wandering I walked down the Christmas isle...Then a light bulb went off in my head!  Why couldn't I use ornament balls?  So that's what I got.  I chose plastic because I knew I could probably pop that little hanger thing off the top with out destroying the whole thing.  I brought them home.  Went to work ....

First I  put a dab of glue in the center of the ball.  Hold the tip of the rope there until it firms up, otherwise it will just slip right off and not stay centered.

Next, start wrapping the rope around it, try to keep it tight and the rope as close together as you can, so you don't have gaps. Every so often dab a little more glue.

Half way finished this is what it should look like!

When you get to the end, what I did to finish it was continue winding until you can't anymore. Cut the rope press the piece that you cut into the tip, and use your scissor to "push" the end down in. Hold it there until the glue firms up. Then you have some cute Spring Decor Balls!  TOTAL PRICE:  $6.00 with plenty of stuff left over!  SCORE!
I'm thinking that I might go looking for a cute glass vase or bowl to put mine in. The bowl needs a redo and just isn't cutting it! If I find one, I'll be showing it off!

Have a great day! GO...GO make you some Spring Balls!

"Monday Menu Madness"

Hey Guys... I hope you all had a great weekend!  I did a little brainstorming over the weekend and decided I wanted to come up with something to do each day.  I added a tab if you "click" on the "What's Up Weekly"  you will see what I plan on sharing with you each week!

On Monday's I am going to share my weekly menu with you and maybe a little surprise recipe/how to also!

This is a menu planner I made...Super simple..all it is, is a frame from the dollar store, some scrapbook paper and I just  typed  Bon Appetit on the top and then the days of the week and printed it out and YAY!

It made a super easy menu display that only cost me a buck because I already had the paper!   I use a dry erase marker to write what we are having and then I'm all set!  I find it so much easier to do this and write it down 'cause if I follow a menu for the week it makes life so much easier! It saves on time at the grocery store and it's a huge plus that  I'm not deciding last minute what I need, don't have, and then we just end up eating out.

I have a confession...I like  to read recipe books.  Ya, like I would the Twilight Books or The Hunger Games series.  Is that kinda weird?  Am I the only one who does it?  I know my Mom does...Love ya Mom!  Maybe that's where I get it from!  Hey, I have found a few great recipes that have become  our family faves.    Anyway, I thought that I would do that this week.  I got out like 6 of my cookbooks  and thumbed through them, found a few that I wanted to try...

So this is what I came up with for this week:

Monday:  Chicken Aparagus Bake  NEW

Tuesday:  Baked Spaghetti & Parmesan Rolls

Wednesday:   Cauliflower & Carrot Casserole NEW

Thursday:  Panini Sandwiches & Tatertots

Friday:  Homemade Chicken Alfredo Pizza

Saturday:  Prienjac  (like Quiche) & Salad  NEW

Sunday:   Pork Roast, Carrot, Mushroom, Red Potatoes

 There you have it...YUMMY!

What's Happening Weekly?

This is what I plan on bringing to you each week! It will give me something to work on, and hopefully you all something to look forward to!

Monday: Menu Madness

Tuesday: Tutorial

Wednesday: What's Happening

Thursday: Tasty Recipes

Friday: Fan-tabu-lous Friday

Saturday: "See Stuff" (Eventually)

Why I Love My Paul Mitchell!

OK, this is such a random post. I'll admit it! As I was doing my hair this morning I was thinking...OOH I could write a post on why I love me some Paul Mitchell and why there are only two brands I will even put on my hair. I went to Beauty school, finished, and while I worked doing hair, I  have tried so many products.  I know that is it a personal preference...Paul Mitchell...Paul Mitchell...I LOVE IT! Did you like my little cheer there? The great thing about salon hair products is they are made to meet the specific needs of your hair! Love it!

So these are the the products I use & in the order I use them each day:
Awapuhi Shampoo
Detangler Conditioner
Super Skinny Serum
Soft Spray

Awapuhi Shampoo is versatile. If you style your hair alot and color your hair it is awesome. I pretty much flat iron my hair everyday and just blow drying, round brushing, curling or using velcro rollers etc. is considered ALOT to your hair. It's perfect for my hair. The Detangler is conditioning but not heavy.  Super Skinny Serum, It will make your hair "shiny",soft, and get rid of the frizzy fly aways! Soft Spray, I love that I can spray and style as I go, give it a finishing spray and all done! Did I mention that they all smell yummy! Bonus! The sculpting foam is a mousse (I use this for my Pretty Princess's hair)When you use them all together INSTANT love, it makes your hair feel like heaven.

I know that I said that there is another one I use too.  Back To Basics by Graham Webb.  I like their Raspberry Almond Shampoo and Conditioner.  I still use all the same Paul Mitchel styling stuff!  When we were in school they  told us that your hair gets"used" to the product and after awhile it won't work the same way it did for you  so you have to "shock" your hair.  So every once in a while I switch but only until the bottle is gone and then it's back to my Pauly!   So like I said before this is totally random...but hey, that's how I am  I get a thought and HAVE to go with it!  Have great Saturday and I will see you all Monday!

Pedestal Canisters

I first saw these at Everything I Love and More I took her idea and tweaked it to make it my own.  For Halloween I filled them with candy corn, Christmas: Hershey Kisses and Valentine's Day: The fun Valentine candy corn then by St. Patrick's Day I decided I wanted them to be used for the decorations instead.
Me Buying Candy + Eating Too Much= Not so good!

What you need to make your own is:
- 3 Canisters
- 3 Finials
- Paint of your choice
- 3 candle stick holders
- E6000 glue

The canisters I got at Hobby Lobby, Can I just say "LOVE THAT PLACE!" The finials were at Hobby Lobby also. You can get the candlesticks there too  or just search the thrift store (like I did). These are so simple to make, all I did was paint the jar lids, finials and candle sticks with black paint. Re-painted over them with a tan color, when they were dry I sanded them everywhere I wanted the black to peek through so they looked kinda rustic. The Finials came with a little piece of wood attached to it. You can either drill a hole in the top of your lid to stick it into, or do what I did... just cut that thing off! Then I used the E6000 glue, glued it to the top of the lid, and then glued the canisters to the candle sticks....TA-DA!

Here they are decked out for Easter and St. Patrick's Day!  What do you think?

The Best Big,Fat Chocolate Chip Cookies

Oh, Chocolate Chip Cookies...I love the way they make my house smell!  My Sweet Sister hooked me up with this really great cookbook, her neighborhood put it together and she asked me if I wanted one? Umm...let me think...Yes!  So, she ended up getting one for herself, our mom, and me. Can I just tell you that I LOVE this book!  Truly, this is my go to book when I don't know what to make for dinner and it has been a lifesaver.  It is Chockfull of great recipes that are not only yummy but super simple to make! My kind-of recipes! (I promise I have more fave's that will share!) Anyway, One batch makes a bunch of really BIG cookies.( I usually will use a 1/4 C. measuring cup and portion the cookies out and freeze some so that I can just thaw and cook later, they freeze really well) These are the best ones I have tried so far..Really...my sweetie asks me Not to make them too often because he can't just eat one!   They are so delicious you gotta try them!

The best big, fat, chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 C. all-purpose flour                   ½ c. white sugar
½ tsp. baking soda                     1 Tbsp. vanilla
½ tsp. salt                           1 egg
¾ c. unsalted butter (1-1/2 cubes)       1 egg yolk
1 c. packed brown sugar                2 C. chocolate chips (1 bag)

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.  Grease cookie sheets or line it With parchment paper.  Mix together flour, baking soda, salt. Set aside.  In medium bowl, cream together melted butter, brown sugar and white sugar until well blended.  Beat in vanilla, egg, egg yolk until light and creamy.  Mix in dry ingredients until just blended.  Stir in chocolate chips by hand using a wooden spoon.  Drop cookie dough ¼ c. at a time onto the cookie sheets.  Cookies should be 3 inches apart.  Bake for 15-17 minutes.  Cool on baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a rack to cool.

                                                  Mmmm....Happy Chocolate Chip Baking!

Eggstra...Eggstra Cute Eggs!

This is another super cute idea from kmckaydesigns I have been dying to make these!  I finally did it!  I dug out all my plastic Easter eggs that I have had from the previous years and got started.
What you'll need is:

-Plastic Eggs
-Jute
-Glue Gun
-Spray paint

You start by putting a dot of glue on the tip of the egg, stick the end of your jute on it and start winding around the egg adding a dab of glue every so often. When they are done. Paint. Wait...and then you can find something cute to put them in. I found my basket at a thrift store for $.75 and then spray painted it white.
If you go to her website she has a great tutorial.
This is what they looked like before paint...

Easter Candy Dish

This was such a easy and fun dish to make. When I saw this, I wanted one...OK, not just wanted one, I NEEDED one. I found it here at kmckay designs I LOVE her stuff! So began the hunt for the "perfect" supplies. A wooden bowl, and a cute ceramic bunny. First I checked the dollar store...no luck...then I turned to my trusty thrift store HOORAY! I found what I was looking for and for both pieces it cost $1.50! I brought them home and went right to work. First I spray painted the bunny and dish white. I waited for them to dry. Those ten minutes seemed like forever. Yes, I can be a little impatient sometimes. After they were dry I mixed up a batch of my very own stain. I took some brown craft paint and mixed in a little water gave it a stir and wa-lah instant stain! I wiped and blotted the stain until it looked the way I wanted,, then I so patiently let it dry, added a cute little bow and...

This is the end result!
I just had to add the candy!

OK...and maybe just a little more...

I really love how it turned out! A perfect place for some easter candy!

Creamy Beef Stroganoff

This is a super easy and super yummy recipe. I use hamburger instead of steak and it is so good!

You will need:
1 lb. hamburger
1 pkg. egg noodles
1 yellow onion (diced)
1/2 c. sour cream
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
1/2 pkg of fresh mushrooms
1c. heavy whipping cream or milk
season salt to taste
garlic powder to taste

Brown hamburger and add the season salt/garlic powder (however much you like) While hamburger is browning start the water boiling for your noodles.
When hamburger is almost finished browning add onion, mushroom and let it cook until they are tender stirring occassionally. Add cream mushroom soup, sour cream, heavy whipping cream. Add your cooked noodles, heat through and enjoy! It is SO good!

Spring is in the air!

Spring is one of my favorite seasons. The flowers that are peeking through the ground, the air has a crisp freshness that I L.O.V.E., leaves returning to the trees, the grass turning green again and everything seems so fresh and new. Yesterday I put away all my St. Patty's Day decor.....and that means time for the Easter decor to go up. I got it all out and realized I didn't have anything for my door!

The Door HAS TO HAVE SOMETHING on it! (Ok, I'll admit it, I used to have this door hangy thing, you know the ones you get at the dollar store that blows away the first strong wind? Well that is exactly what happened to it...Ba-bye in the wind! Anyway, this morning I made this wreath. I've seen similar ideas around blogland. Sorry that I am not sure which blog exactly I saw something like this, but, You were my inspiration!

I used a 8X10 thrift store frame,  some burlap cut into 2to 2-1/2 inch wide strips (how long of a piece you need depends on the thickness of your frame) and some material I had cut in 1 1-1/2 inch strips.) Just what the front door needed! It made my morning when my Little Miss Muffet came down stairs and said,"Wow Mom,you made that?" Ahem....Well, of course I did, you know how awesome I am! Love that kiddo!

I love how the wreath turned out! What do you think?
